Hire a lifeguard on Long Island for a season, a weekend or a single afternoon. We are a staffing company rather than a training school, so placing the right guard and covering the shift is the whole job.

Hire a lifeguard on Long Island: certified guards on duty watching the water from a beach station

How much does it cost to hire a lifeguard on Long Island?

You will usually get two numbers rather than one, because Nassau and Suffolk are quoted separately. Nassau is denser and easier to cover at short notice; Suffolk is roughly ten times the area and the East End in August is the hardest coverage on the island. Send the water, the dates and the hours for both figures.

How many guards does the water need?

Whether one guard can see the whole bottom of the pool from their position, how many swimmers are in at peak, and whether there is more than one body of water. A separate wading pool or diving well almost always needs a second set of eyes. Health department rules set the minimum, not the target.

What does a lifeguard booking include?

Current lifeguard certification with CPR/AED and First Aid carried on site, and a certificate of insurance naming your association, village, camp or venue as additional insured. Rescue tube, whistle and a basic first aid kit come with the guard.

How are pools, waterfront and events different lifeguard jobs?

Pool certification does not qualify a guard for open water, and an ocean beach is different again from a bay beach. Private events are different in another way: fewer guards, less paperwork, tighter timing. Say which you have when you call.

What to send for a quote

The pool dimensions and shape or the type of open water, the dates and daily hours, your peak bather load, and whether you need an additional insured certificate.
